5 Tools for 2017 to Increase SEO Ranking

Your website is finally done, you have all your information, images and links ready to go, but there’s still one problem—you need to get visitors to your website. While there are many ways to accomplish this, let’s discuss five tools you can use to increase your SEO ranking with ease.

Google Analytics

Google has 3.5 billion daily searches and you want your content to be at the top! So how do you accomplish this? Google has a program called Google Analytics, used for tracking and reporting website traffic, which is now the most widely used web analytics service on the internet.

By utilizing this freemium tool, you’re able to track your website’s traffic and see what your viewers are clicking or avoiding, increasing your ability to improve your website and boost ranking.

HubSpot Keywords tool

We can’t get enough of HubSpot and all of its tools, but one of my personal favorites is the Keywords tool. This is a program in which you can analyze your top search results, see how targeted keywords rank, learn how often your keywords are searched for and more.

One feature in HubSpot keywords that we love is the difficulty tab, which rates your keyword between 1-100 (1 being the easiest to rank for and 100 being very difficult)—this helps us target words that have low difficulty so we can break into the top search results faster. Overall, this tool helps dramatically in determining which direction to take our company and what we want to promote.

Google Trends

As with Google Analytics, Google Trends is another great tool for improving your SEO ranking. Google Trends analyzes search queries over time when people search for your keyword and compare different words or phrases to see which is more effective.

For example, let’s say you’re trying to find the most effective way to promote boots for this winter. When people search for boots using keywords like “snow boots” or “winter boots,” Google Trends will pick up on this and let you know which search is being used more. Give Google Trends a try to see the most effective ways to search and be found.

Screaming Frog SEO Spider tool

Have you heard of website spiders before? They crawl your website and landing pages finding keywords, broken links, redirects and more. We find this tool to be extremely helpful, not only because of its analysis of web pages, but also because it tells you what needs to be fixed! Improving your page will only increase your SEO and bring in more traffic. This tool is free and a few features include:

    • Analyse Page Titles & Meta Data
    • Review Meta Robots & Directives
    • Discover Duplicate Pages
    • Generate XML Sitemaps

Moz

I’m a big fan of Moz and use it in my daily work routine; it’s an effective tool that finds ways to improve SEO and make inbound marketing easier. For example, with recent news of Tom Brady and the Patriots winning the Super Bowl, I searched “Tom Brady.” As you can see below, Moz pulls the number of searches for Tom Brady (between 300,000 and 1,500,000). So how do you get our page at the top of those searches? Moz data shows more specific searches using long-tail keywords regarding Tom Brady (Tom Brady net worth, Tom Brady kids and so on). Learning how to specify your keywords and content to more detailed search queries will help you get found faster.

Tom Brady Keywords

It’s not easy to get your website in the top SEO rankings but there are many tools, as we’ve discussed, to help improve your chances. From just analyzing the results from your campaigns to auditing your website for errors, these tools everything you would need to increase your chances. I hope this was helpful and if you have any questions, please leave them in the comment section below!
